The Story Thus Far of Commander Leon FalknerBorn in May of 3278 (age 29), Leon was born and raised in the Federation star system of Ho Hsien, working for the Ho Hsien Corporation as a Computer technician and cargo freighter pilot after passing his flight exam with middling results in 3300. He became an independent pilot in 3303, and cut his teeth performing odd jobs and bounty hunting until in June of that year his Vulture class ship was destroyed during a job and he was left for dead.
Injured and near death, Leon was found by a passing Imperial ship, where he was transported to a medical vessel for recuperation. In exchange for this good deed, however, Leon was forced into Imperial Slavery to pay off the debt incurred in his recovery. After a few months of performing cargo runs and acting as a chauffeur for various dignitaries, Leon’s contract was sold to the Dukes of Mikunn, where he acted as a mercenary pilot and excelled in their space. However, during his tenure he did fall in with the shadowy group, the Guild of Sefrys, who offered lucrative and highly illegal missions. Leon became a mercenary pirate, plundering the space-lanes in Federal border space that he once worked. However, when the Thargoids attacked stations late in that year, Leon did personally see to piloting a rescue vessel in order to save the first civilians from the Oracle attack. This came to a head in 3304, where Leon was detained upon visiting his home system by Federal agents for three months. His father, a Federation naval veteran managed to mount an escape and freed Leon, but lost his own life in the process.
Enraged and despondent, Leon reached out through old mercenary contacts to the Empire and performed a heist, smuggling explosives into the Federal blacksite and destroying it. After ceremoniously ‘burying’ his father at VY Canis Majoris, Leon was invited to join Lavingy’s Legion, a highly decorated and esteemed wing of the Imperial Navy. He moved to and lived on New Carthage for some time, eventually being pulled into the Anti-Thargoid actions of 3305 within Imperial Space. With his hired pilot and friend James at his side, Leon braved Guardian ruins in order to access technology to better fight the alien ships. Together, with the members of the Legion at his side, they fought the aliens back from their territory.
After becoming a full Legionnaire for his service in fighting the Thargoid threat, Leon took some time to recooperate, and eventually launched a solo expedition towards the Galactic Center to map new planets and systems. After spending more than half the year 3305 in deep space, Leon finally returned in December, laden with data to deliver to the Legion about distant star systems and habitable worlds far out in the black.
After that, Leon spent much of 3306 planetside, performing other duties while the world of space-flight passed him by. Eventually he was placed on Legion Reserve due to his inactivity, which he took in stride, and whiled away the days on New Carthage, waiting for something he couldn’t name.
Eventually, a call was made for pilots to support the conference in Sirius, and with the peace of the Empire’s representatives at stake, Leon answered the call, working to support the logistical and defensive support. Then when NMLA terrorists bombed several stations throughout populated space, Leon refit his largest ship to provide aid to both Imperial and even Federal citizens in the Sol system that required aid. Now in the aftermath of these events, Leon attempts to find his way in this changing political climate...
