Log 23 : Short log : Thargoids inside the bubble and a new ship

Short log : thargoids in human space, and a new shipIt's been around 2 weeks since ending my little visit down on mother terra and making a fool of myself as the bewildered offworlder. I'm writing this while in the middle of another excursion, the payout of transporting a deep space explorer being too tempting to turn down. Also I can use this as an excuse to stay well clear of the thargoids. This little job will sack me a large number of credits and I can dodge having to dive right back into corrosive weapons fire. Enough rescue runs for now, I'd prefer having fewer grey hairs and limbs still attached thank you very much !
Months back I had intended to purchase Lakon's answer to the thargoids, the chieftain, and in no way besides jump range does it disappoint. With a few hours flying it around under my belt, I can tell from experience that it is a viable alternative to my long beloved federal assault ship, that ugly brick being one of the most maneuverable ships I had ever flown. Though drifty, it seems like a sort of idiot proof mechanism to keep me from blacking out, something I have done more times than I would like to admit in the core dynamics assault ship. The chieftain is definitely going to be my new go to ship for combat.
Around a year ago there was rush to learn more about the alien race called the " guardians", their obelisks had stored information on their civilization, technology, primitive history, and their fate. A whole new rush to the guardian sites had started recently by the possibility to create weapons to fight the thargoids, a merge of human and guardian design. Recordings of other pilots have already surfaced showing these bizarre combinations of technology giving thargoids something to reckon with, one human vessel is not as easily pushed around anymore if equipped properly. Upon returning to civilization I'll assist with the research, any possibility of putting a stop to the thargoids' advance is one worth following.
Still a while off from finishing this passenger contract, thousands of lightyears to our destination. Back to it then.
