To the rescue!

I've not made an entry for a long time, defending the galaxy against the Thargoid menace is a time consuming activity!

But today I feel I should.

Yesterday morning I awoke at Jameson memorial to find Galnet buzzing with cries for help, the Gnosis had been hyperdicted while attempting to jump into the cone sector. The Pilots federation had tried to stop this endeavour, they warned the explorers of the dangers of Thargoid activity in the area, but still they came in their thousands.

Shortly after departure the Thargoids made their displeasure at this trip clear. Those poor pilots, trapped out in the black with no way to defend themselves beyond the few combat pilots who had also made the trip, something had to be done..

I thought long and hard about how I could help, did I go to T Tauri and then ship over a Chieftain? that would be the best way to get a combat ship to Outotz region quickly, but it would still be slow going the last 650 odd ly in a heavily armoured gunship. what to do??

I wandered down to the hangar at Jameson and reviewed my fleet, Python? too slow. Corvette? too large. Asp X? too weak. Eagle? God no. Courier, not ready for a fight. Gunship? in the Pleiades and too damn slow.

I was at a loss, then I considered the DBX, its quick, it can jump 63ly, it has 3 empty weapon ports..

That was when I decided, its the DBX. I stripped it down to the core and rebuilt it for distance and a fight all at once. I had no idea how long it would last or whether it could even get kills but I had to try!

30 jumps later I arrived at the Gnosis to find it under heavy fire from Thargoid Scouts, I managed to dock to allow me to remove my FSD booster and fuel scoop and order in some hull plating to replace these, then I jumped back into the cockpit and into the fight. 3 Thargoid scouts fell to my AX Multis in reasonable time but massively outnumbered I retreated back to the Gnosis where I found some of my friends from The Fatherhood Wing engaged in combat. We winged up and took the fight to the scouts with a great vengeance.

Now I await the rest of Crows Flying Circus to arrive in system so IPX pilots will once again be at the vanguard of the galaxy's defence against these merciless killers.
