Planet 2045 PC2, the dilemma

After months of wandering, scanning, stealing, salvaging, some of the crew members wanted to return to Sol, visit old friends.I wish I could see Sol but it will be from a distance, scavengers are not very welcome in a Federation controlled system.
"excuse me," eponce said, " we are nowhere welcome anymore"
I looked at him and pointed at his wallet. He knew what I meant, smiled, and went to his quarters.
Eponce and Archer were going to Mars, home.
Ok, let's see where we can park our carrier.
Alpha Centauri looks pretty cool, the system is big enough to hide behind a planet.
"Hey Cap, what about the escape pods?" Archer asked.
"Do you want us to drop them off somewhere"
I replied with a "no", Archer is a rookie and doesn't know the value of those pods. When we bought the carrier in Panoi I made the constructors make a few .... adjustments.
It was a very simple thing to do, only so weird for some people that I had to wait like a week to find someone, crazy enough to do it.
We can stock 1000 of those pods in the 2 last compartments of the carrier, I call it the FREAKSHOW.
Once the pods are picked up, the crew brings them in the right position so they can be attached to a very genius machine that keeps the pods working, and those in it alive.
I was asked once if I would ever let them be free again. Sure, I will let them free, if the price is right.
I do not consider what I am doing as wrong, I did save them from death. And it just takes one family member to boost the prices and the are free.
"Hyperspace jump complete": must be the sweetest thing my Nav computer ever said to me.
THere she was, Planet 2045 PC2, "great job, "I said while tapping on the hud, perfect orbit, right in the shadow of the Planet.
I know they still can detect us but why sitting in the light, we always liked to work in the dark.
"Alright guys, I wish you some good times down there. No screwing up this time, let Feds be Feds ok? While you are there, keep an eye on the "search and Rescue" guys.
If they raise the value, you know right"
Eponce and Archer gave me a thumbs up and went to their ship. I'm worried about Eponce. For such a small trip he takes "the Unreliable", the best scavenger of the fleet.
Oh well, maybe a little provocation wouldn't hurt.
A few hours went by and I started to get bored.
I checked the Pods, did some repairs here and there.
Long-range scanners are showing 2 Salvage signals. One is closeby, the other one right at the doorstep of the Mug-lovers.
Why not, I jumped in my ship, we still got some limpets in it, so we are good to go.
The first one was a very straightforward deal, you drop in, pop some limpets and wait till they return with the salvaged wreckage.
The second one was more fun, like close to an hour away and it seemed like every single pirate had to be here.
A type-10 first, Anaconda came next.
And the Anaconda was my best client, he was packed with Gold but he got greedy, and he died. Which gave me a sad feeling for a second or 2 until my sensors picked up his cargo and I started collecting again. The second wreckage area that was close to Hutton orbital luckily had only a few items floating in space. Considering that I already had a lot in my cargo racks, it didn't take long and we were fully loaded.
As I wanted to stay undetected in other systems we supercruised back to Scavenger's Heaven.
After an hour we docked, and our automatic cargo organizer placed all the bins where they had to be.
Time for some planetary scan time, and maybe, some good stuff is hanging around there.
But first, time for a shower and some rest.
To be continued
