Been a while since I updated. Short story - I went bust. I did not however, start over. I did eventually get a new ship. Yesterday, I made my way across Mulachi. The bulk of the system was over 500K Ls from entry. In that bulk however, was a wealth of economic data, which was sent via subspace to the EDDN. So in the end, I felt it was worth the extra effort to tread sub light to the outskirts. Only took 15 minutes. XD
During my trip, I discovered that my ship was not at at all easy to land as I flew into a building and possibly killed a school bus full of space hamsters. I also realized that my commandeering might not be quite on par with Admiral William Adama. But still cooler that Lee.
Then I got interdicted by a fella by the name of Thermal, of the Malachi Crimson Posse, and Shirley (love of my life) got her first taste of action. She did good. She might really be a Terminator. MY ship IS LIQUID METAL, lol. Anyways, I accidentally engaged Silent Running in the middle of the fight. And I dunno if it was fate or what - but the Feds showed up to save my ass at that exact moment. So in the end I didn't finish off Thermal alone.
Ok, so I am not even close to being as good as Lee, ok? I'm like the guy that replaced Lee, then crashed the tanker during a routine fuel exchange. Maybe worse.
Made it to Laue City. Sold the junk in my hold(it was actually for another job - but my FSD is still stock, so I couldn't leave the system to complete the mission. In fact there was only ONE system I could jump to at that point; I couldn't plot a route past it.)
When I got to Fleming City I reconfigured my audio. That means no transmissions remotely - all ships internal feeds are now diverted to a signal storage unit. No streaming or upload to public networks would be made past this point unless I disconnect it.
The music kicked on. I turned up. "Let's Dock", I said. Lined up, boost in.
Hit a building and killed 20 workers. I payed the 578 credits and we were square. Love. This. Galaxy.
So to summarize, I made some money yesterday and stayed alive.
Some souls back in the Sol system were not so lucky a couple days ago. Terrible business back there. My thoughts have been with the people there. Many are doing the same.
I handled the criminal element in Tara while on another mission to hunt a criminal. Ended the day with a new FSD and bunked up back in Isleta. I'll depart tomorrow though. Currently in deep thought.
Stay shiny, Commanders!
