A chilling pit stop

02 Sep 2017Gareth Ryder
300 light years out from the outpost sight, I've decided to take a short break. A USS popped up on scanners and I decided to check it out, almost called for Mars out of reflex, its been a while since I've fully piloted the ship, always in command but taking command. Maybe I should take the helm more often? Anyway the USS was a small debris field, there was a small data beacon. No information of value on it just something about updating firmware and warranty, all other data was lost, presumably on destruction of the ship. It got me thinking, is someone else going to find the remains of all the ships that won't make it out of the bubble in time? Are they going to understand what happened? Will all the data inside be lost to time like it was here? I'd rather not think about it...
