War is Hell

I'm so tired. I'm in need of rest and some time out, but I've got to keep on. I've got to set an example to everyone. A quick sleep then I'm back in. So I'm sat in the hanger at Sekowski Prospect watching the flight crews get to work turning 'The Executor' around, ready for the next wave. She's battered. I limped in with 6% hull, I can only synth basic ammo and I'm down to the last 3 fighter spares. But do you know what? I wouldn't be anywhere else.
To most of you reading this, Sekowski is a shit refinery in a nothing system. But to me, right now, it's the site of the most amazing battle I've seen and been involved in. You've got pilots from KI fighting for their lives to free people from a dying feudal government that's killing this system and all those in it. And the best bit is that they don't need to. KI is booming. Profits are through the roof. There's a million people there and they're happy. There's 30,000 here and they want a change. We'll I'm gonna give it to them. Even if it means I die trying.
After a hard day's fighting yesterday I woke this morning sore as hell but ready for anything. I completed my reports, noted that we'd been quiet over night, and saw that the galaxy wasn't interested in this part of the bubble. No one had turned up to help us out. But that's good. No mistakes, no chance for the MoC to trick anyone in to helping them out. The local media has us down as dominating the war too so we need to keep the momentum going and win over the hearts and minds too. When this was ends I want to see KI running this place and making life better for those here.
Angeline and me set out this morning with a mission to get 40 kills. Hopefully it would make a difference. And boy did we fight for those kills. It took a while as my ship is barely engineered but I didn't lose the ship once. I can't say the same for the fighters. She lost 3 of those but how many kills would we have lost without her? How many hulls would I have trashed with her? But we fought hard, winning three battles I think and only losing one. Then with the mission tally complete, over a million in bounties and almost 8MCr sat waiting for me for the completed mission, we headed back here. Beat up. Hungry. Sore and missing a few good pilots. But we made it back. The fight will go on and we will remember those brave souls who fought with us.
Now it's sleep time. Refuel. Resupply what this little station can help us with and then we can get back out there. Shouldn't be long now if the media are right. Not long to find out.
