Ready to Ride Again

Cmdr Oak ran his hand over the surface of his holopad. It had been put in the back of his locker a while ago and dust had started to build up on the screen. He turned it on. It still had some charge, one less job to do.He looked out of the cockpit of the Indiana Jones as the holopad system loaded. Welcome to Comer Dock came into view as the ship went into the belly of the station. Carrying the holopad, which was still booting, he disembarked and looked around the hanger for the entrance to the concourse, the bright yellow glow of the Core Dynamics hologram lit up the exit and he walked towards it. He smiled at his ship as it disappeared behind the closing elevator doors. He had always liked it, a lightly engineered Krait Mk2, that he used the most. His latest bitter sweet memory was collecting Coral Sap from a Thargoid site. Sweet as he reminised about flying around the site, flak launchers dislodging the nodes and limpets picking them up. Bitter as he had missed out on the delivery by about 30 minutes. Damn those Commanders coming out of the woodwork and completing the order too quickly.
His ears were bombarded by music and tannoy announcements as he stepped out of the elevator and into the station. He headed to the large viewing windows as the holopad completed it's start up routine. He looked out at the galaxy, the only thing of interest in the view. He heard a beep and looked at the pad.

"Hello there. Cmdr Oak I presume?" said a man dressed in a standard flight suit, looking between him and a datapad as if to compare the picture. Cmdr Oak recognised him from his intel package as Judge Malcolm David of Brutus One.
Cmdr Oak nodded and walked towards him.
Judge David held up a glass of Lavian Brandy. "Follow me Commander. We have a lot to discuss."
