we came a long way...

29 Sep 2017Arkadi Kreven
The Thargoid invasion has arrived. Cargo haulers from all over the human bubble have helped to get mass-production of anti-xeno weapons, known as AX, and new sensor technology up and running. Now I am docked at Blackmount Habitation the Federal  planetary settelment of HIP 17692 A1, close to a hot white star, 365 ly away from my home-dock, recapitulating and pondering what my next actions will be.

I have not gotten much sleep lately. I was part of the hauler community that delivered explosives, resonating seperators and different kinds of unknown technology samples to Prof. Palin and Liz Ryder. It could all have been so easy but it was not. The effort was not backed by the superpowers, so we were left on our own with our cargo-ships to load off in those wilde anarychy systems serving as destinations for our deliverys. We had to deal with some highwaymen calling themselves the "Interstellar Basterds" and other pirate scoundrel who didn't want to believe that our mission was important for the survival of humanity against an alien threat. Ironically I myself am still pledged to the Piratelord Archon Delaine. Many people still believe stories about the Thargoid Invasion are tales to scare littel children. They have not seen the yellow caustic field of destruction in HIP 17044 back in 3303-06-13 /GalNet report. /GalTube report by "Recardo's"

Back then, I myself was a sceptic. I already have seen the ship wrecks in the Pleiades and have delivered Unknown Artefacts from this sites to Professor Palin earlyer. The connection was not hard to make. But still there was the possiblity that the slaughter of HIP 17044 was human made, maybe some weapon testing or some shady machinations from the superpowers or maybe the Feds started the agression against those alien flower ships. This is a thought still worrying me - the possibility that we are the agressors, the bad guys of the story.

Maybe we, as humanity, have erred. Maybe we should have turend away from the Pleiades as soon as we did find signs of alien life there. But as we have discovered the alien shipwrecks it was already to late. We already have started to harvest the barnacles. Science, industry and politics already were in the game. There was no easy way back. From this point on it all became a territorrial affaire about the Pleiades and theire ressources.

So what do I know? Those Thargoid ships are scavanging combat aftermaths - some of smaller scale, some of gigantic scale. I don't believe those ships we have seen would be capable of a destructive force like that. /GalTube by "Black Hat" !!!SPOILER WARNING!!! Either they're strength is in pure numbers or they have  bigger, super destructive battelships, we have not yet seen and survived to recount of them.

The Thargoid scavangers are not overly agressive if I only don't get in theire way. But how can I watch when they scoop up surviving escape-pods of those massacres? /GalTube by "Manni van Gayk" !!!SPOILER WARNING!!!

With my current knowledge I will continue to rescure human survivors, so they won't get sucked inot alien ships and whilst doing this I'll try to gather more data. I think we will need a good and fast scientific research and development to be prepared for what seems to come. I hope a way to communicate with the Thargoids will be found sooner then later becouse I value diplomatics over brute force. But in the time being I will do my best to protect our kin.

This also means that I will take action against the Ant Hill Mob and all other ruthless murderers who have started to shoot down passanger liners to further theire goals, as I have witnessed at Maia Orbital.
I was in the pirate business myself - but that can not be compared by this brutality of hunting and destroying civillian ships. If we as humanity behave like wilde animals, we will be perceived and treated as such. We have come a long way to dwell under the stars. I'll try to not lose the light to the darkness within.
