Obsidian Station and the Ant Hill Mob

Logbook: The trip to Maia was as easy as a 350ly trip can be. I have not encountered anything out of the ordninary yet. The Pleiades Nebula seems rather small but has its own crimson and green beauty like those apple fruits they sell at some agriculture stations. It is clear that I am not the only one who has followed the call of Dr. Kaii to come and search the Nebula. Its quite a feeling to see the station for the first time and to know there are tons of parts built into its electronic system that have gone through my cargo hold too. Kaushpoos memorys are rising again. But I notice some tension with the crew of Obsidian Station. Technicians seem to be jumpy and overworked, security staff is nervous and tense. I have overheared a little talk, where some local supply technicians were chatting about hiring on a pirate vessel. I will watch my back here at the station and in space, with all those freelancer pilots around one never knows. Lets see if I meet any of them again in the "Distant Worlds Expedition".
I have spoken to my friends and wing-mates about my longing for the far reaches of the galaxy. It seem I will make this journey on my own, but still I hope I will have some company out there. I will stay pledged to Hudson but will do my best to lay any political resentments aside. Out there we are but star-dust, like the old saying goes.
Unfortunatly my application was a bit late and I was assigned for the second fleet witch is to follow the mainfleet. I equipped my Asp "Feuerkäfer" with the usual lightwight longrange outfit and additional with fuel-limpets, just in case some pilots should get into trouble out there. Also I have equipped some scanners and left some free storage, just in case if something should be found thats worth (and save) to carry back to the bubble.
Diary:
I thought about my reasoning why I want to join the Distant Worlds Expedition. This is what I typed into my keyboard without much thinking. I guess that is as honest as it can get:
There is endless space around us. Still it is too small to escape the power struggle. Out there in the void I hope for redemption under the stars. All who travel share a common goal: to move in space and time. Forwards or backwards becomes irrelevant in the face of a black hole. Its just movement and gravity and space-time. In the end all are one and one is all. Is it this I crave for - merging? Who knows. I bring some fuel-limpets and an SRV. Lets see to what end this will lead. |
