Undermining, Racing, War and the Dark Side of the Moon

Last Log from 20 Mar 3302The meet up with my wingmate went smooth and some undermining for the Federation has been done successful. Cleaning the system with a Python and a Corvette would have needed the attention of some Pilots Federation commanders to put a stop to our doings. But as we were left unobstracted, we sure will get some good merits this cycle.
I watched some trideo-streams in my downtime and found a broadcast from a show called "Newsletter 116". They featured a clip about a racing club doing canyon races - in this case it was about the RPi Circuit.
This is the clip:
Now I had the motivation I have needed to move my ass and go practicing my racing skills. This idea was lingering on my mind for long, I even had bought a racing viper for this reason months ago. Now was the time to go fetch it from my home hangar back at [redacted] and look for the canyon featured in the vid. It was not hard to make out the location:
HIP 18187: 3C
Koordinates: -2.7566 / 17.6740
G-Force: 0,04g
Racing Course:
As I did arrive, I found the coordinates to be on the dark side at this time. I double checked the astornet data and found that the moon was indeed tidally locked to its planet, but its orbital period has brought the moon into a positon away from sunlight. What I could calculate from the astronet data and visual investigation it would take several days to bring that particular canyon back into daylight. However I really would need a lecture about calculating movement of celestial bodies. It really would be great to predict day and night cyles more accuratly then I can actually. Maybe I find some seasoned professor who can tutor me on this somewhere. I will have to look out for those educated scholars of the universe.
As I came back to check if a night-flight would be possible, suddenly I perceived lights at the former starting platform. A guarded outpost has been established at that point with a wide array of security drones! I kept my distance and maybe will return with a fighter loadout to investigate later on.
But in the meantime new developments at my homebase keep me busy. The faction I decided to work for has improved its standing in the last week and now entered a state of war. It could be that it was due to my influence, that my chosen faction has risen to power so far. After all it has gained 4% in influence as the rating bureos tell, since I started my engagement with them. And I did quite a view things: I sold my exploration data exlusive with them, I did bountyhunting in the system and quite some trading.
It seems some people owe me a favour for helping them out. But lets see how the war will turn out first.
Last but not least I did give our Commanders Club a littel face lift. Now we call our little club "Federal Syndicate". Lets see if some more people get attracted.
So I have a busy schedul to keep:
- fight the war of my minor faction
- help out my wingmate at the CG to embank the new outbreak of the Cerberus Plague
- investigate the plantary fortification camp at the former racing circuit
