Aries Dark Region DB-X D1-63
Remarks: While pulling in to Obsidian Orbital in the Maia system, I received a transmission from the esteemed Professor Palin requesting a sample of Unknown Resin. I've taken this opportunity to begin identifying possible Thargoid planetary bases located in the outlying areas around the Nebula, using data supplied to me during the mission briefing. My results are as follows.
-HIP 19026: Possible Thargoid base located on HIP 19026 B 1 C not found. A thorough search of the briefed area found several craters that could possibly house a planetary base of appropriate size, but no extant traces of Thargoid activity. It is entirely possible that Intel recorded the location incorrectly, but there is insufficient time to begin an in-depth search of the planet surface. I recommend that this location be flagged as a return destination for future missions. On a secondary note, HIP 19026 A hosts a terraformable water world with carbon-based lifeforms. Additionally, I have taken onboard an occupied escape pod found amidst some wreckage I came upon as I exited witchspace during my arrival in-system. I intend on turning this in to the appropriate authorities when I next return to inhabited space. Nothing else of interest found.
-Aries Dark Region DB-X D1-63: Thargoid base found on DB-X D1-63 A 7 A, but appears to be abandoned and in a state of deactivation. The architecture of the base is organic in nature and appears to be based on a physiology similar to Earth-based arthropods. The central structure resists all attempts at entry including weapons fire, and I have found that a signal is interfering with my systems in a similar manner to an EMP. Exterior scans of the structure indicates there is some sort of uplink device inside. The exterior area contains several unknown features, including numerous fungal colonies and an organic device that appears to be some sort of terraforming generator. I've also encountered what appear to be organic robots patrolling the area, similar in function to our skimmer technology. However, the only action that elicits a response from them appears to be direct attack. Additionally, I have found several organic structures that act as mineral extractors, reproducing minerals in the form of pods. I've harvested pods containing Meta-Alloys, as well as two samples of this Unknown Resin.
