Major Systems Surveyed:Pleiades Sector AB-W B2-4
HIP 17403
HIP 17862
Remarks: As ordered, I have broken off the survey of Thargoid planetary bases in the Pleiades Sector and have begun investigating possible crash sites of Thargoid vessels. My results are as follows:
-Pleiades Sector AB-W B2-4: Crash site found on body 9 A. The site is under constant observation by elements of the Imperial Merope Expeditionary Fleet, both from the nearby Notrach-Ihazevich Research Facility and from a Majestic-class Interdictor in a parking orbit above the site. During my approach, I inadvertently entered the warship's exclusion zone and was engaged by two Imperial Fighters. Per standing orders, I avoided direct confrontation, departed the area via supercruise, then re-approached the site under silent running. Investigation of the crash site revealed that the ships are constructed from the same organic material that the bases are. The ship appears to have crashed into the surface from a high altitude and high speed, leaving a sizable impact crater and being broken up into several pieces. The cause of the crash is unknown, as there appears to be no evidence of weapon damage. Nothing else of interest found.
-HIP 17403: Crash site found on body A 4 A. As with the previous crash site, the ship appears to have crashed at great speed and has broken up into several pieces. Of particular interest at this site is the presence of 4 other crashed vessels: 2 Anacondas and 2 Type-9 Heavies. Analysis of ship markings and derelict cargo reveal that these crashed vessels were elements of a Federal Naval Transportation Command convoy re-supplying Federal installations in the area. It appears in all probability that the convoy and the Thargoid vessel engaged in combat, but oddly none of the vessels bear any recent combat scars and no bodies have been found. In my personal opinion, it appears that all five vessels simply dropped from the sky. Nothing else of interest found.
-HIP 17862: Crash site found on body 6 C A. The condition of the ship was found to be similar to the other two sites: high-altitude, high-speed crash, no weapon scars, no bodies found. Unlike the other two sites, I found several Unknown Artefacts scattered around the site. I retrieved one of these per my latest orders and returned it to the factor at Blackmount Orbital with no incident.
I would like to close this report by expressing my strenuous objections to the activities I am being ordered to do. Nearly igniting an interstellar incident and transporting extremely dangerous and illicit cargo was not part of my contract.
End of report.
ADF Comments: Objections noted.
