Changes To The Cetifox Fleet

I know it's been a while since I've made any log entries. So, clearly I need to catch up.

I successfully made it back home to Bisley Landing, Benzaiten System, Colonia Region. By the time I paid for transporting my new Imperial Cutter and did some outfitting I was perilously low on credits. I took advantage of the prime mining that Colonia affords us and trotted out The Ceti Zorro and spent a week doing exactly that.

It wasn't long before, between the Void Opals and Low Temperature Diamonds, that I went from 30 million to 1 billion credits. And that was after finishing work on The Ceti Fuchs. She's a thing of beauty, even if the name "Fox" in German is rather...naughty.

Next, I decided to pay attention to what was actually going on at Bisley Landing. Communists control the station. I don't like communists. Never did. Communism is a lie based ON a lie. I've started to aggressively build up the only Democratic faction in the system. Depending on the mission type, I had a number of options at my disposal...the DBX, the Gunship, the Krait Phantom, the Fer-de-Lance. I started working some of them with the FDL...and came to the conclusion I really didn't like the ship. Sure, the bridge is sexy and has a great view where it counts. But, even fully engineered, I got to hate the way it handled and it just didn't seem to do as well in a pinch. I decided it was time to ditch The Ceti Sionnach. But replace it with what? After a bit of soul-searching I decided that I wanted a little smaller deep exploration ship as an alternate to my Anaconda. I had thought at one point the Cutter would replace the Anaconda, but it's impossible to get anywhere close to the jump range I have with the Anaconda using a similar configuration. But what? The answer was an Orca. I traded in the FDL on a cheaper Orca and quickly engineered it to be almost as effective an exploration ship as the Anaconda.

Once I decided to focus on block box and scanning missions as a way to bump up my faction of choice to try to kick the commies out, the Mamba became my choice for several days. She's crazy fast, can handle a moderate amount of a battle and bolt when I need to. But I wanted to give The Ceti Kettu a little facelift. A day visit at the livery and she's sporting a new look:

Now, I had added quite a bit to the ol' bank account as this point and I figured it was time to go back over the fleet and see if there were any upgrades, etc., I still needed to do. I took one of my tinkers to Jaques Station and came across this unholy traffic jam:

It took 15 minutes before that mess finally broke up and I could dock. Good thing this doesn't happen often. Anyway, I continue to plug away at trying to kick the commies out. Anyone who wants to help, you're invited. It's been slow going so far.
Do you like it?
