Overnight At The Jameson Crash Site

For a good five minutes I just stared at it. Surprisingly, I was able to set my Orca down pretty close to the crash site. It was night time on the second moon from the first planet. It's not like I could really stare at it in the darkness. All I really saw was the regular-as-clockwork comm beacons left around the broken Cobra. I won't bore you with the story about Cmdr Jameson's ill-fated mission...It's common knowledge. Well, as far as anyone actually knows the truth behind all this.
Given how hard it apparently came down, it's surprisingly intact. As I pulled up to the front of it I simply couldn't resist the urge to peer inside the cockpit, long since barren. Damn if it isn't like looking into an empty grave.
I spent quite a bit of time scouting around the site, and began hacking into the comm beacons, and I've got some useful data that I'll be able to leverage with some engineers. But doing this at night is just a bit high on the creep factor. So, now I'm putting the ship in sleep mode...or, more accurately, I'm putting myself sleep mode, and the ship is just along for the ride. So, I sit here going through my checklist before I had back to my stateroom to shower and catch up on the latest waves floating across Galnet.
I have to say, I am glad I took The Ceti Sionnach on this trip. Because it's primarily designed as a luxury cruise ship, the Captain's Stateroom is pretty damned swanky. Pretty much perfect for recovering from a tough day. Tomorrow I'll get back to it in the light of day. Much better environment. MUCH better.
But for now....rest.
