Homeward Bound to Colonia

Has it really been that long? Over three months? I've been busy, to be sure. The Silverbacks have exponentially grown in numbers--God only knows why--and that's given me plenty of opportunities to help out newer commanders. Several trips to the Guardian sites, countless Thargoids put to rest, modestly grew my core systems fleet, and even had time to join in an almost-war. Between the Thargoid hunting and mining I pushed my bank account--albeit temporarily--over the 2 billion credit line. Of course, spending a quarter of that on purchasing a number of Prismatic Shield Generators for both my Arexe fleet and my Benzaiten fleet was part of the plan. It was nice while it lasted. I'll need to pass that mark again just to ship most of those generators back home to Colonia. So, here I sit on the pad at Janes Horizons doing final prep in my Orca before beating her to death screaming through neutron star after neutron star.
Final fueling is almost finished, and I've already personally stowed the real foodstuffs I want for the trip home. Here's the thing...the food replicators are fine, and I could live as long as I needed to on them. Hells, I was raised on those things. And, as most have figured out, you can do some pretty great tweaking of the programming to come out with better meals. But I honestly do like to prepare a meal once in a while. I've got plenty of room on this ship, so one module that's normally used for cabins has been converted to an efficient cold storage/galley.
Okay, that's the signal. All the technicians have completed their tasks and I'm ready to go over the pre-flight with Eden.
Now, I like Janes Horizons as my home away from home, and I'm used to it. It reminds me a lot of my first home when I migrated to Colonia. But, for some damn reason I'm finding all the noise inside the station really annoying as I try to concentrate on the pre-flight. Oh, sure, I could just let Eden do it all and simply report to me that everything's fine. But that's not my thing. Oh, well, I'll get over this soon enough......
Okay, everything checks out. Lifting off to begin my trip back home. I do miss my sky. Colonia, this son is coming back.
