That's What I Get For A Late Start

I really and truly should have just waited until I had a good night's rest. But, why delay things? Anyway, I'm about 3,000ly into my trip and I found myself starting to play chin basketball at the helm. Eden caught me before I let the ship go barreling into a star after a jump, so I decided to see if there were any planets or moons I could land on for the night. The system scan revealed only two bodies besides the neutron star. You could knock me over with a feather when the scan showed the second planet was an Earth-like world.
Four probes later and I had a nice map of the planet. That would fetch a pretty credit when I cash in at the end of my trip. Of course, I couldn't just be left to enjoy the find. Eden barked at me that I was low on fuel--neutron star jumping has a tendency to make you forget that you are still using fuel. So, I did a quick check and found a main sequence star one system over. A quick sidestep, a few seconds to scoop some fuel--man, I love the large A-rated fuel scoops--and I came back to the ELW to park The Ceti Sionnach in low orbit for the night.
As I stared out the window for several moments to take in the beauty of the planet, I told Eden to keep the ship in geosynchronous orbit over this spot while I grabbed a quick bite and caught some shuteye. Oh, and don't wake me up. I'll make the hard push tomorrow. I've shut off the main thrusters. The reaction control thrusters will be fine for the night. I'll turn off the bridge lights in a minute and head down to my cabin. I'm too tired to prepare a meal...the replicator will suffice.
See ya next time around, Bubble. And goodnight.
