Kicking It Old School...Remembering Where I Came From

After spending several days doing some bounty hunting I decided do a little exploring--my primary trade--but I decided I ought to do it a bit different. I loaded up my trusty Sidewinder--which rarely gets to stretch its legs anymore--and head out a few hundred light years. I came across a system blossoming with biological signals and couldn't resist taking a look. I don't have The Ceti Volpe outfitted with an SRV, but the Sidewinder is so small it easily dropped right next to the little buggers. The challenge here was that the planet was over 3G. One mistake with the relatively frail Sidewinder--even engineered--could mean I'd be spending who knows how long in a stasis pod until someone picked up my beacon and came for me. These things were beautiful, though. As you approach them they light up like an old-style Christmas tree. Pretty appropriate for this time of year, don't ya think?
Anyway, I'm treating this a bit like a camping trip--bunking in a Sidewinder isn't all that better than using a tent--so I'll just spend a couple of days admiring the sights from the comfort of the smallest ship in my fleet. Let's see if the odd noises these biologics give out will actually let me catch some sleep.
Signing off for now.
