INCURSIONS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT; ADDITIONAL SECURITY MEASURES DEPLOYED(14 JUL 3301)
In answer to all the recent incursions in one of the fleet's trading routes, the MTJL-SC (Viper Mk.III-class ship) was commissioned to reinforce the fighting capabilities of the AMF's bulk freighters; while capable of defending themselves, an additional cost-effective interceptor was needed to lessen interdictions and the risk of being disabled by pirates.
Following the first few hours of the spacecraft's sortie, a tally of around 30 ships have been destroyed, including two Anacondas on a simultaneous engagement. While the AMF is seemingly bragging their recent accomplishment, the pilot was vocal on how the two behemoths did not return fire for the majority of the battle, and how the hostiles were even more poorly equipped than the mid-grade spacecraft.
Aside from its primary purpose, the new craft will also reinforce other peacekeeping entities and trading vessels in the vicinity. In the meantime, it will continue to see action in supercruise, Nav Beacons, and on Resource Extraction Sites.
