Commander's Personal Entry - November 1st, 3303

Mission and Personal Entry
Location: HIP 39768 -A14F

We've spent the last hours scanning several of the Ancient Obelisks in various systems and various planets and moons.  I have taken the liberty to bookmark these systems (with the exception of one system) in the navigational computer for future visits.

So far we have scanned 19 million credits worth of data, and that doesn't count the artifacts we have in the cargo hold.  I've overheard several of the crew members talking about the data we've retrieved with varying degrees of excitement, and one thing that remains is we still have not found out why the Ancients have become no more.  As I mentioned in my earlier entry, I will be putting together a complete data compilation of the information we have been gathering. Right now it's too soon to speculate how all the data relates or any possible theories as to who the Ancients are, and where they may have gone.

The Aurora Sagittarius has held up very well during this mission.  Trysha, my first officer, has been taking digital images of the sites we have visited, and been documenting some of the materials we have found during our mission.  Types of rock, it's content, possible carbon dating of the locations we have landed to retrieve the data from the Ancient Obelisks.

Some of the data we have retrieved suggests that these planets and moons have been here long before Earth.  While this isn't surprising, what is interesting is the age of the planets.  While too soon to speculate what their actual age is, I'm placing a small wager among the crew, as I believe the Ancients might have been here long before humans even began exploring our own galaxy, further more, I'm guessing that we share the same biological DNA at it's very core.

So far I have now seen two dwarf stars surrounded by metallic rings, which could contain minerals that would sell for a very high dollar back in the bubble,
I have traveled along the surface of these planetary bodies where the temperature can range -200 degrees Celsius in the daylight, and -400 to -1000 degrees Celsius  in the shadow.  We have traveled more that a thousand light years from Felice Dock, in the Meene system, and out here, even though I am surrounded by my crew when I am aboard the ship and not driving the Scarab around, just one look at where we are versus where our home is, there is a pivotal point when you really begin to realize your place in the universe, and you realize just how small we really are in this enormous picture.

Well, I am going to run one more diagnostic on the Aurora Sagittarius's systems.  I have decided that for the next 16 hours, the crew has deserved a break.  They all worked very hard to help collect, analyze and store this data safely so we may learn more about the Ancients, and for that they definitely deserve a break.

As for our good friend Cmdr. Indigowyrd, he is several sites ahead of us, but we are catching up.  It's good to hear his voice over comms while we gather this data, and is always available for any questions, or a few jokes just to keep our spirits up.  Which reminds me, I'll have to buy him a drink when we return to Felice Dock in Meene.

Looks like the diagnostic came back and all is good.  All doors and hatches have been sealed, and the shields are still holding, with our hull at 100% integrity.
Time to get some sleep after a well deserved dinner.  Trysha has gotten used to the "talking" planets and moons, so she has been able to sleep peacefully.
I will add more data to my next entry, as of right now my mind and body are calling me to sleep...
