Commander's Personal Entry - November 20th, 3303 - Supplimental

We have traveled out to HR 1185 while transporting rare goods at the suggestion of our old friend Cmdr. Indigowyrd. To my amazement, this system contains a black hole, of which I had to see for myself. The interesting thing is, there is really nothing to see, however the gravitational forces that the black hole has, will cause light to literally bend as you pass it by.
Our next stop was The Indra. A capital class ship that is in orbit above the 3rd planet of the system. We docked there briefly to refuel the Discovery, and then head out to our destination, Ceres Tarn.
First off, let me say that this is the highest gravity planet I have ever landed on, with a rating of 4Gs. The onboard docking computer set us down nice and easy, however we observed other ships that did not have docking computers, make fairly hard landings. I can only guess the cost of repairs due to such hard landings.
The view is absolutely breathtaking, with this being a ringed planet, and the star being a bright blue-white, the surface of this planet has a light purple haze color to it, while the light blue-white star that was setting in the southern sky, was illuminating everything, while setting below the rings of this planet. I took the liberty to take a few photos while on the observation deck, and even sent out a drone to take the rest of the pictures.
The people here are very nice, and welcomed us with open arms. It wasn't long before our friend, Cmdr. Indigowyrd, arrived with his ship, and docked up.
I've been many places in the universe, but this particular place has a certain "Home" feeling to it, even though it's roughly 17 jumps from the Avalon system.
While I have not entered it as a bookmark in the stellar cartography catalog, I will do so before departing. What really has me curious is whether or not the rings are of a metallic nature, or pristine. If they are pristine, I may consider outfitting the Discovery for a few mining missions to make some additional money.
Per my previous entry, the crew is still mourning the loss of our fallen crew member, Dan Baxter, from our last battle. I still feel fit to command the Discovery, but I also know the crew still needs time to mourn the loss of a friend and a family member. That being said, I think we will stay the night here at Ceres Tarn, and enjoy a few of the festivities that are going on.
Tomorrow is another day of exploration...
