Commander's Personal Entry - December 28th, 3303

28 Dec 2017Orion Starhunter
We are currently docked at Worlidge Terminal in LHS 3447. We have taken under our wing a new Commander, Cmdr. Casp3r, who has shown great advancement in the last 24 hours.

I took it upon myself to pick up some Palladium here, and drop it into space, allowing Cmdr. Casp3r to pick it up and sell it. I have done this for all new pilots, in an attempt to get them somewhat financially stable, so they may buy their first ship and outfit it to begin running cargo missions.

So far things have gone well. I forgot how peaceful it is out here, without the threat of Thargoids, or the worry of pirates. Security here is tight as usual, with scans happening frequently.

I decided to try my skills at an Anaconda Class ship, and properly named her Baba Yaga (after the Russian tale). So far I am getting used to her, and we are upgrading her one step at a time. I am forced to look at our financial situation, and am realizing that I may have to make a trip back out to Maia to run some more Thargoid missions for Professor Palin. This is how we made our credits the last time, and with it purchased the Anaconda and the Type 10 Defender.

My only concern is how well the Aurora Sagittarius will hold up, if we continue these types of missions for Professor Palin, as the cargo is corrosive, and causes serious damage to the ship. While we are merely transporting cargo for a mission, personally I would love to be behind the scenes to see what this goo is, and why it is so dangerous. Thargoid Resin, Technology and Biological Material are all contained in these canisters of goo that love to eat away at any ship's hull.

While the pay ranges anywhere from 8 up to 25 million credits per mission, I can only guess that this is considered hazard pay.

Well tomorrow dawns a new day, so for now I am going to turn in with my wife.
More later as it happens.
