Trying again with new friends

You remember how I said I was going to try to keep up with a journal this time? Well, I wish I could say I succeeded with that, but you know what it was for a good reason. I found a little place to settle down. People don't know me there, don't know who or what I was back in the day. I'm using an old identity I once had, a lonely smuggler and long-haul spacer from Reddot.In other news, I got married! It was a small ceremony and I don't think anyone there even really cared what was going on, but I met one of my old flings from way back in the day. When I was still in and serving in the Intel branch. She's got a couple of kids now, I don't think either of them are mine but at least one of them is a spitting image of me so I guess there's a bit of a chance. Either way, we have two of our own now too. We actually had started talking quite a while ago and I started dating her around the same time but I didn't want to mention it until it was a done thing and then I just went and forgot.
I'm sorry with how much of a ramble this is but I finally found a group of people that remind me of the good people I met back in the corps. A few good men, or so they say. We've been doing some good work stabilizing the system that their fleet carrier, mobile headquarters, thing is out of and we did a pretty good job of it. We've repelled some group pushing in from another system and soon, I think, we might be ready to start expanding ourselves!
I'm glad I happened upon this old thing, I have no illusions that I will actually keep up with it, but I guess that's alright. I can at least say I tried.
