Decisions, Decisions

The Avikarli - 12 D Bootis run has been extremely kind to my credit balance as of late, so I figured it was time to expand the fleet roster a bit and pick up a smaller craft for local reconnaissance. I narrowed my choices down to two - the Imperial Courier and Imperial Eagle, which meant a trip into Empire territory about 250Ly from home. It was worth the trip, of course, to purchase a stylin' ride.
At the showroom, I weighed my options while a salesman with the world's worst fake smile kept trying to get me into a Type 9. The Eagle was SHARP, and the very first upgraded ship I ever owned was a Federal version of the craft. But in the end it lacked all of the utility options that I needed. The ship had to be able to do in-depth mapping and composition analysis, as well as having an extended fuel range and enough on-board power to run offensive, defensive and economic components.
That definitely wasn't the Eagle, so the Courier became purchased and christened "Inquisitive".
A word of caution though, pilots - I wasn't aware that in order to upgrade the ship's armor, one must visit a licensed dealer of the specific ship one wishes to upgrade. In the end, it wasn't worth it to skip out on the military plating, because I had to turn RIGHT BACK AROUND and return to the station of purchase as soon as I got home and realized this.
Live and learn, I suppose. -Sid
