I renounce Player Versus Player combat.

(This is an OOC post.)Apparently, someone decided to willfully break Mobius' group rules and gun down another player outside of a combat zone. They thought it was funny.
I don't see the humor.
Mobius exists for people who simply just aren't interested in the more primitive aspects of humanity - namely, ignoring the splendor and mysteries of the galaxy in favor of filling each other full of holes. As an American, I see that quite a bit. We're pretty good at killing one another for reasons that are just plain sad.
"Because I find it entertaining" is probably one of the saddest excuses I've heard to attack another human being in any capacity. I don't care if it's a video game. People play video games to enjoy themselves, and I'm having a hard time continuing to defend people whose version of "fun" is "let's go shoot at someONE".
Wanna shoot at someTHING? Meh. Fine. I'm not going to win every battle with humanity. I can take a compromise. But from here on out I'm not shooting at another human player. I'm not going to have time to see what I want to see and do what I want to do if I'm wasting it chasing someone around in circles, guffawing like a redneck.
There's nothing human about attacking other humans. And we're NEVER going to get past Mars - let alone develop FTL and colonize the galaxy - if we're more interested in tribalistic nonsense than we are advancing the whole.
There is one less PvPer in the world. And to some of the others, that means I've got a target on my back now.
It can stay there. I'm intelligent enough to not get hit while still adhering to my own principles. No one is going to break me. I won't allow it. :-) -bp
