Surprise delivery.I really surprised Overseer Morales when I delivered the Sidewinder. Somehow I don’t think she expected me so soon. Or maybe she didn’t believe anyone would pay to have a ship in that condition ferried so far.
I pulled out the A-rated FSD I installed and replaced it with what it came with, but a rebuilt one. I don’t think anyone needs to know about the cargo rack and KWS I put on it temporarily. And the repairs from that Python blast I caught even fixed the spring in the seat. But it was still basically the same condition as when I picked it up, just a little cleaner.
Luigi stopped by and we had a drink at one of the space port bars.
He said the Copper Rivet was doing fine, and they had no trouble since I left. But the Brick was still upset about his brother and it wasn’t safe for me to drop by for a visit. He’d say hi to Charlie for me.
I told him about the frustrations of flying a short legged sidewinder on such a long journey and about helping out a couple stations on the way.
Luigi wasn’t able to stick around long. There is an outbreak on the station and he needed to make sure it didn’t spread to his area.
With the money I made on the trip down I was able to buy a souped-up Imperial Eagle. I made my test run to Thari to pick up some progenitor cells and basic medicines to help fight the outbreak.
A guy in a Viper interdicted me and he was no match for Fearless and me. We had him on the run from the first shot. He really panicked when we shot off his shields; kept saying something about it being all over if he gave me 2000 credits worth of cargo. But the log says he wanted me to give him the cargo. If he’d been clearer, and I didn’t have a full cargo hold I just might have let taken him up on it.
The Fearless flies like a dream. Handles smooth as a young lady’s cheek. When I lifted off from Jones Orbital I was speeding almost before I moved the throttle. That must be what the salesman meant when he said it accelerates like a jack rabbit.
