Stupid groundhogs.

Stupid groundhogs.

Yeah, I know people living on stations aren’t groundhogs, but they might as well be. They have no notion of what it’s like flying space ships.

Take today. I was running a real nice data delivery mission when I got a message saying somebody was hunting me. They offered a reward of 70 grand to teach the guy a permanent lesson. Not bad, and Fearless has been flawless in combat.

As I was flying along I got a direct message from the guy hunting me. Before I could check him out he fired off his interdictor. I submitted and targeted him and found he was rated master and flying a Python. And me mostly harmless flying an Imperial Eagle!

I was able to pull the ship’s control core with me into the escape capsule. The insurance was enough to build a new fuselage around it with all the upgrades. So I still feel Fearless is with me.

Of course pulling the control core broke the seal so the Pilot’s Federation won’t validate any of the unclaimed bounties or system scans.

The only place Fearless falls down is cargo space. Six ton does not help systems in famine or outbreak much. Oh, it’s better than nothing, but still a drop in the bucket.

It is also a bit small for some of the rewards. I had a run to Sy Gateway where I brought in two tons of fish, two tons of coffee and two tons of fruit. They paid for each order partly with cargo so I had to deliver one, sell the reward, go back to deliver the second and then sell the reward so I had room to take the third reward.

I didn’t like having to interrupt Mr Wong so many times. He must have thought I was ill.

I’m not submitting to anyone else unless I can beat them.
