If I want to find Penny, I have to find this Sirius Silver Mafia guy named Elephant. To find Elephant I have to get access to Sirius, and the Sirius Corporation won’t let hardly anyone visit except employees. Too many “confidential trade secrets” they say.I’d been trying to make friends with them by running errands from Procyon. They didn’t have many so I picked up errands from the Federation factions to make ends meet.
I recently heard the thargoids attacked a couple stations in the Pleiadies and left them uninhabitable. Helping those people seems more urgent than finding Penny.
Saladin wouldn’t be able to do much, 20 tons of cargo space and a fairly low jump range, it would be too late by the time I got there and I would just clog up the traffic lanes.
I heard Laplace Orbital in BD+49 1280 and Fisher Port in LP 128-9 had good prices on Asp Explorers so I went over there and picked one up. Elvira Martuuk was kind enough to upgrade my FSD and I was off to the Pleiadies.
I brought basic medicines to The Oracle and made a few runs carrying out up to 32 passengers each time. They rewarded me with a few credits and the repairs weren’t too bad, but boy were those docking bays hot!
I dropped in on a couple ships’ wreckage and recovered an escape capsule. As I was approaching the second one I heard some real loud interference over the cockpit speakers. I checked the log and it was nothing the ship did. Then I looked out the window. All I saw was thargoid. I did not need to change my Remlock, but it was close.
On my way back to civilization I picked up some meta-alloys for Felicity Farseer. She did some work on my thrusters, sensors and power plant for me.
Now I am back in Procyon, continuing the search for Penny
