Raiding LTT 16910

Feb 2-3304

I reached out to my contacts throughout the Syndicate to see what was happening through the universe.  One of my underlings in the Black Void Syndicate had recently paid off a low ranking official in the government in Polevnic to slip a coded file into their database.
*By the way you have to love those peace and prosperity schmucks, they really are about as naive as one comes in 3304.
*I will have to keep an eye on this underling as he continues to make a name for himself in a relatively short period of time.
Well the syndicates technician firms are worth every penny we slip off the books to them.  I logged on to the system that Polevnic Mining Reclamation is using, used our new state of the art software that mirrors the credentials of the highest ranking official in that department; essentially a crypto key, and there it was.  My sweet pay day!  Apparently, a mining group had hit a vein in an asteroid belt and was pulling out more low temperature diamonds than they could carry.

*I shouted out to my crew it was time to mount up!
We were headed to LTT 16910.  Once the Errant Venture was loaded up with the proper limpets and fueled for the long haul we set out.  On the way my ace pilot and really my most trusted crew member; Donte Warren, asked if he should plot our course for the mining belt.  Sitting at the helm I gave him a sideways glance and asked him if he wanted to deal with the security they probably hired to safe guard them as they lay into their mining lasers.  In typical Dante fashion he screamed," Let's give em' hell Comandante!"
*What should I have expected from an ace pilot always hungry to prove his metal?

I informed him we would play this smart and limit our repairs as we waited for the miners to leave the belt in super cruise.  Yet again I proved why I am the Comandante and the one best suited to lead the Black Void Syndicate.  We laid in wait and picked them off one by one.  The first few were easy pickings and we already had the hold on the Errant Venture over half full!  Little did I know they had set up comm satellites that let them communicate back and forth at an almost instant speed. This is when Dante had to earn his keep.

The next two targets proved to be a little more difficult.  The first commander, well she had gotten word and thought it best to load up on plasma accelerators on her Type-6! She also shared her information with her security so they could track her movements.  No sooner had we interdicted her then her bodyguard in his Federal Assault Ship dropped in thinking he would ruin our party.  I don't think I have seen Dante smile more as he tore out of the cockpit for the fighter hanger.  Dante launched and before I could even think of blowing her power plant he had already rendered the FAS useless.  I asked him to watch my back as I brought down the power plant and put and end to her plasma accelerator days.  I launched the hatch breakers and before I knew it we had our hold almost 100% full!

I proceeded to pick up Dante and we got back into super cruise to decide on our next move.  As he came back from the fighter bay he informed me we had room for about 6 more diamonds, which really would work out nicely because we had about 7 more limpets.  That's when we spotted her.  A cobra making a run for it.  He almost got away to, but the Errant Venture isn't your typical Anaconda.  We hit the interdiction and right as we dropped out the hatch breakers were away!

Just like that we were sitting on a full hold all thanks to this new comer.  I set course for home.  We settled into Ruthford Port Docking Bay 32 in Suya about 2 hours after lift off.  Once I gave Dante his share I came out about 3.4m ahead.

I'm going to have to watch this new guy rather closely, he just may have what it takes to be a lord one day in the Black Void Syndicate.
Do you like it?
