Starport Lethal Force!

OMG! I just saw people die! Ok, let me back up. A lot's happened in a short period of time. Like I said, I'd just gotten this new Sidewinder. Well, I say "new". I'm, like, the forth owner. The radio is busted, floor mats are sticky and I think something's died in the air system. And...omg, ew! The glove box is full used tissues and a girly magazine! I'm not cleaning that out! I'm just going to duct-tape it shut and pretend it doesn't exist! Yuck!
Well, anyway, so I got off of Baker's Prospect...that's about when I noticed the smell, just after taking off. So, I changed my mind and headed for Beagle 2. I was hoping to find someone who could do some work on this ship. The goobers in my home port still have hayseed in their hair. They'd just stand there and pick their nose at you as you would ask them to fix something, then tell you they're too busy and "run and play, girlie". Ugh!!!!
Anyway, so I where was I? Yeah, I flew in to Beagle 2 Landing and, ok...a few sparks flew up as I set down on the pad. The paint scratched a little, but...well, it was pretty scratched already. And I only clipped a few antennae on the way in. It was a good landing! I met a guy there named Chuck who works in the shipyards. He offered to take a look at my sidewinder and tune it for only 10 credits. I thought it was a pretty good deal, so while he worked on that, I went to the canteen for something to eat. When I came back, Chuck was working on another ship, but mine was ready. The stink was gone and ...bless him...the glove box was cleaned out! The floor mats are still sticky, tho. I'll need to get new ones.
My goal was to get to Dahan, so I fired her up and left the port. It was on my way out that I saw people killed. A large ship -- I'm not sure what kind, some sort of hauler -- just stopped in the mail slot, blocking outgoing traffic. Another smaller ship, an Adder, got impatient and bumped him from behind, trying to push him out. But the big ship wasn't moving. The glow of their shields colliding lit up the interior of the port. I just kind of hung back and thought "uh oh" as another ship moved up to get out. Meanwhile, my timer to leave the station was ticking down. Suddenly, the station started firing on the ships, destroying all of them right before my eyes! It was terrifying! I floored it and slipped out past the wreckage in to open space. As soon as I knew which way was what, I jumped to Dahan.
