Back in Black

Hey Mom,Not sure when you will get this message will reach you, I had to rely on a dodgy carrier captain out near some desolate Guardian ruins to relay it to you. I paid in Kamitra Cigars so I hope he is as good as his word. I am sure you have seen everything that is going on back in the bubble. I want you to know that I am not anywhere near that right now. About a two weeks ago I pulled my AspX the Artemis out of storage, finished her upgrades for exploration and stripped her down for distance. I managed to get over 65ly jump range out of her. I could have gotten more but I hate flying without a shield. I swung through Procyon and was talking to Sally and she agreed that considering the current climate, now was as good a time as any to get out of dodge. I can still pick up the odd Galnet transmission and have been able to relay some messages back and forth to friends back in the bubble to keep up on the news. This mess with the Marlinists and now the Feds are getting involved with the refugees.. I don't know. I feel bad for those people and I am glad that the Feds are giving them somewhere to go but everyone knows the Imps are not going to take it well. Everything seems on a knife's edge.
For Sally and me though, we are light years away from all that. I told her I was heading for Colonia and then doing some exploring but that plan got flipped. She had never seen much outside the bubble and when I said I was planning on seeing the central black hole she was all over that. So she is coming with on my exploration tour which seems to be getting longer and longer the further we go. My original plan was to zigzag along a straight shot to Sag-A* but we have gotten distracted checking out some sites along the way. The Deep Space Network in partnership with Canonn has deployed fleet carriers throughout the galaxy. We have been jumping routes between them, going up along the Circinus Arm. We have seen some truly amazing things and have a couple of must see destinations that we have added to our route. So long story short, we hope to hit the core in about a month and than make are way to Colonia from there. But, if something else interesting pops up it may be longer. I will try and send word of our journey as we go and I will have plenty of pictures to share when I get there.
Anyways, hope this message finds you well and I hope to see you in a month or so.
Love,
Jake
