#006 - A new Expedition

New Plans were hatched - out little group set out on an expedition towards the core. We are using the carrier as a mobile base, and as a means of transport. I'm piloting it, so I'll have to do the navigation. I'll accompany it in my ship instead of hitching a ride on board - I always like the approach towards the core, seeing the dust clouds fade an stars grow ever denser.
The journey is split into 5kly segments, which I'll do daily.
The first segment takes us trough the dust clouds between the galaxy arms. Not many stars are visible here, while we pass trough the least dense areas we will visit the entire journey. The first waypoint is on the edge of the Sagittarius-Carina Arm. The blackness of the surrounding space gives the core region a nice contrast.
Day two and three had us traversing the next two spiral arms, ending up on the edge of the 3k parsec arm. From here, on the edge of the core, the star density would only increase. There are two more days of pushing further into the core left before we reach our destination.
