Well, this is my first entry into the new Squadron Logbook after we all went official; after a long time as a minor member of the Wolves of Jonai I decided to go a different path and found other pilots looking to do the same. So, The Heathen Cooperative, was formed out in Tionisla we are a small Squadron but effective. I was granted the position of Chief of Operations which works well for me, with my focus on trading over combat I can keep an eye on the economy related matters of the Cooperative while the others focus on combat and such. As a group of politically left pilots it's no surprise we taken to working with the Alliance powers more than anything.
We've managed to have a good beginning, one of our pilots is an ex Imperial Navy pilot who left them with quite the capital behind him and knowledge of good trade, mining and combat spots; with their knowledge we have quickly been able to gain a Fleet Carrier for ourselves. Imagine that aye, a small squadron with a fleet carrier to call our own, it's a major asset for us as we can easily move the squadron to different systems for mining, trade and combat operations as required.
We were out on a mining excursion together when the Galactic message came though, the last Thargoid Titan was heading into the core systems, heading to the home of humanity Sol. All commanders being asked to assist in the evacuation of the civilian population from the system to nearby rescue ships, though it is Federation space we won't turn away from our fellow people, so off to Sol we went. We had to get the carrier close so we could easily hop into Sol which was the easy part, the hard part is getting out withy refugees in our holds.
We had heard that the Thargoid's were already in the sector, interdicting any ship leaving Sol and they were right. The first trip I make and I got yanked out and my systems temporarily fragged. I couldn't jump as my FSD got disabled so had to just boost for my life while it reset, in that time the damn Thargoid ship got breeching limpets on me and caused some of my passengers to get yanked out into the black, I feel terrible but I couldn't retrieve them. My ship, a Type-7 hauler, is not a combat vessel and I couldn't risk picking their pods up with that ship attacking me.
I was able to get away thankfully, lost some poor folk but the rest are safe now, and I learnt what needed to be changed up. A quick outfitting and I was back out, another couple of runs and escapes from the Thargoid's every time. Several hundred refugees brought to safety from Sol to the rescue ship Cornwallis, where they go next I don't now but hopefully safety and prosperous new beginnings considering they had to leave their lives behind.
I hear that the titan is close now, what was risky now will soon become even more dangerous but there are people yet to be evacuated and we will keep going for as long as we can. The Xeno hunters will be here soon to combat the Titan and I wish them luck, I hope they wish me luck in these hot evac flights I'll be doing soon.
