CMDR's Log 04: The Journey to the Veil Nebula West
06 Mar 2018Ashirah
Finally made my way out of the bubble. After months of planning and outfitting my ship, the Starlight Glimmer, I finally up and left. Currently heading towards the Veil Nebula West, and then towards the Heart and Soul Nebula. Only around 19 more jumps until the Veil Nebula West. Hearing other pilots describing their journey into the void, the sights they've seen, I knew I had to see them with my own eyes. Veil Nebula West
I honestly do not know what to expect. The nebulae all look so pretty for afar and from the photos, but what do they look like up close? Can I fly between the colors? How do they actually look up close? Despite earning my wings & flying to hundreds of systems in the bubble, there's just so many things that I've never seen yet of this universe. It's crazy!
Well, I am halfway there. Reached Synuefai NF-C d14-58 & decided that I should call it a night (well, what my body clock would call it a night). I still can't decide when's day and when's night out here in space. It's a weird feeling, to only rely on what your body tell you, when to rest, when to eat. Sure there's the clock, but you can't actually look out of your window and confirm that... can you?
Either way, sleep was calling & I found a planet that I can land on. Like most planets with no atmosphere, this was a barren planet, mainly made out of iron. Found a canyon that seemed like it would give me a breathtaking view from my cockpit, but alas, there was no suitable area to land. Had to settle with a valley around the canyon instead. Low gravity, according to Celeste. I decided to take the SRV & drive around the perimeter a little. Nothing much except some outcrop with some common elements though.
Well, time to call it a night. I am back on the ship and powered down all non-essential modules.
