Woke up feeling so drowsy, stared out of the cockpit for a silent moment while I had my coffee. It was such a serene view. An icy layer stretched across the horizon, illuminated by the star. Yet the sky was black, with only the view of the milky way and countless shimmering stars. Continued on my journey, and after a few jump, I was wondering why I couldn't see the nebula yet. Apparently I was looking at the wrong direction. Turned around and a majestic sight was before me
The Veil Nebula West was right in front of me! I was speechless while taking in the sight. It was as unique and as pretty as what the other pilots described in our cantina banters. All of a sudden, I felt the deep appreciation of our universe, and the joys of exploration. To think that those bright colors are clouds of heated an ionized gas and dust.
It felt like a life time, gazing at the beauty. Then I noticed the bright swirl below it. It was a very bright star or planet with swirls of debris around it. I wasn't too sure how far it was or what it was. Instead, what caught my attention were the nebulae to the left and beyond the Veil Nebula West. I was certain that they are the Heart and Soul Nebulae, my final destination.
After I was done admiring the Veil Nebula West, it was time to see what it was like to be in the nebula. I engaged the FSD and jumped in.
When I left the witchspace, my surrounding was colored in faint blue and purple hue. Wasn't as grand as I expect it to be up close, but still, beautiful in its own rights. Not much that I can see since I am in the nebula itself. So it was time to plot for my next destination, the Pelican nebula, which is half way to the Heart and Soul.
On my way there, I managed to find an interesting undiscovered planet with ammonia-based life forms.
It was surrounded by a pristine reserve of icy asteroid ring.
Next, was an icy planet.
The canyons appearing before me as I approach it was a majestic sight! Landed on it to do some prospecting, while enjoying the icy temperature and blue terrain. There's just something about icy planets that calms you down. I would totally be fine living here, if I could self sustain. There were signs of geysers, but I had no luck locating active ones.
3rd planet I approached was a red metallic planet, it looked like one of the volcanic planets from the movies, but this did not have active volcanic activities.
What caught my eyes was a massive crater on one side of the planet, with an interesting outcropping in the middle. I wondered if that was the remnants of the comet that impacted the planet & was curious enough to want to check it out. As I approach the crater, the huge outcropping loomed before me, it looked a huge mountain! Landed at the base of the mountain and explored the area. Rough terrains all around. Oh if only the planet could speak & tell me all about its history. What it has seen all these billions of years and how did all these craters form, especially this gigantic one that I'm nested in. Wouldn't you be curious with the history of all the planets you visited?
Left my mark before I left. Some Scarab tyre trails to mark my presence.
I was getting tired, and decided to land on the next planet I found. This was yet another icy planet, though it has a red hue to the icy surface. Decided not to prospect it for now, and just power down for the night.
