Day 3.... I know it's only three days but I'm exhausted from killing revenants, the drones don't stop coming and going, my ammunition reserves don't worry me and neither do my livelihood, I'm worried about my mental health, because of what I've seen so far...I saw the drones searching for something in the ruins of the destroyed facilities, I knew they had been there before, because of the damages they caused, but I didn't expect to see them doing that again...
That's when I realized that they might be looking for something in the wreckage, something valuable, something that could help them improve their technology, something that could give them an advantage over us humans, like better weapons or something else...
I decided not to interfere with them, because I wanted to gather information on what they were actually looking for, then i just sitted and watched them digging through the debris...
I stayed there for a long time, I observed them for hours, until the afternoon came, and I was starting to get hungry so I left.
When I got back, I found a hole in the ground, deep enough to fit a human being...
I thought they were stealing something from the ruins, I wondered if they found something valuable, something that we lost on the battlefield....
suddenly the sound of an explosion broke the silence, i recognized that sound, it was the sound of a human ship coming out of supercruise speed, those pink and white flashes! I know whose ship that is! They are from my girlfriend Ship Sparklys!
They started shooting the ship with their caustic lasers. My girlfriend is fighting them with two turrets and some other guns, she managed to hit one of the drones with a plasma bolt, it exploded into pieces, but the other one survived.
Sparklys decided to land the ship without fighting the rest of them, just tanking the damage with the shields, then she disembarked, activated the shields of his suit and fired the ship, she ran in the direction of the living quarters building right next to mine. Even though they were next each other, they weren't connected and the thargoid drones were in aggressive mode with their red lights, it was a risk to get out now.
I think that my girlfriend is still alive, I can hear sounds through the wall although they are not clear at all, I don't know if they are the drones or Sparklys, but they are very close. I need to go outside to see what's happening, but I'm afraid to leave my room because of the drones.
I will try to take a look from the window.
But what the hell am I thinking, I've been killing a lot of drones non-stop for 3 days, I have my Aphelion and my Eclipse with me, I'm more than capable of killing them and reuniting with Sparklys.
I'm leaving the room and opening the door to the corridor, I find a drone right there, I shoot him with my rifle, but the thing just falls down, I feel bad, I've killed so many of them already, maybe they are programmed to die after a certain number of shots.
I continue walking and come across another drone, this time I don't hesitate and kill him with my rifle, but I realize that I'm not getting anywhere fast, I have to get out of here, I have to save my girlfriend, I run to the end of the corridor and exited the Hab Module.
I see a drone in the distance, he's approaching me, I start running. It seems that Sparklys had the same idea as me and we both started shooting at the approaching Revenant shooting at us with his caustic laser, he immediately fell under the pressure of both of us. I'm able to get closer to him and I throw myself on top of him, I aim my rifle at his head and I fire twice.
It dies.
I'm feeling relieved, i looked tearfully at Sparklys and we ran to hug each other immediately.
