Back Home Again

After a long interstellar journey, I've returned to the Bubble. Due to some personal issues, I did not finish the cross-galaxy trip. Maybe long-range travel just isn't for me. I licked my wounds, fixed the paint, and decided to get back to work.

Upon my arrival back home--although I can't say any place other than my ship qualifies as such--I heard tell of a great number of stations that have been damaged by Thargoid interference. Before I left, I was participating in station repair with Operation IDA, and found that the folks doing it were good company. They're always looking for hands, so I swung over and grabbed the Heavy Metal Queen and headed out to do some station repair.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've hauled probably about 10k tons worth of commodities. I should have done more, but was distracted by planetary news. Sometimes I find it difficult to continue doing the work here when I see worlds in chaos, including my own. But someone has to fix things that are broken, otherwise what kind of galaxy are we living in?

Today I heard from a friend who hasn't been flying for at least six months. I was happy to meet up with him and another commander at Hennen City, in the LHS 1541 system.

I swapped over from the Heavy Metal Queen (T9) to the Black Wind (FDL) in Ross 671. The aforementioned friends enjoy combat, and I like the sleek profile of the Black Wind. She's a joy to fly, and although I get nervous in combat, it's good practice for if I'm ever stuck in a situation I can't boost and warp out of.

I suppose it'll be good to dust off the hardpoints and give it an honest go at the hazres sites tomorrow. Still, I prefer the simplicity of an honest day's work, and will return to IDA soon.
