LOG: Spent the week in Colonia mining, visiting stations, making friends with engineers, and generally getting the lay of the land. I like it out there, and I'm definitely coming back after the expedition is over.
Started making my way from Colonia to Polo conventionally, after heading about 300 LY above the plane, and targetting F and G-type stars hoping to find an Earthlike, but after a bit over 1000 LY covered I realized I didn't have time to keep exploring if I wanted to get to Polo before the bulk of the fleet left. I switched over to neutron plotting, put the hammer down, and covered 3600LY in 30 minutes.
It still amazing how quickly you can cover distance with the neutron highway. Not so great for exploration, but it makes me feel better knowing how quickly I could possibly get back to safety in an emergency.
I've decided I'm going to take the Mk II on the rest of the trip after we leave the core. The lure of the fighter bay for canyon running is too strong to resist once the mining is done.
Repair crews are fixing the damage the boosting did to my FSD. I've got an AFMU, but didn't run into any malfunctions this trip, so I never bothered using it. It'll be nice to have some time to stretch my legs before moving on for the next waypoint.
