Finally Brought The Big One

07 Sep 2015Lase Mooray

It has taken a year of saving, bounty hunting, freedom fighting, trading and exploring but I have finally brought an Anaconda! Ever since I started to make my own way in the galaxy, after I was gifted my Cobra Mk III (Melissa's Romance), I have wanted to do a deep space exploration - maybe to the center of the galaxy. However while I was able to trade and fight in the Cobra to a point, it wasn't the best ship for going too far for exploring. After some a while I was able to afford a Lakon Type-6 transport ship. This was a boon for my ability to trade and my cash soon started to mount up. A call went out to pilots for sensor data for an Alliance expansion. The great part was that I had recently come back from an expedition in my Cobra. Overall I got 3.5 million credits for my trouble. This was enough - with a 20% discount offered by the Alliance - to purchase my Asp (The Nomads Snake).

The Asp is a fantastic ship. Kitted out with the right stuff it has one of the greatest jump ranges for a very modest price. I have one issue with it, the cockpit bubble. Despite the fact that you are surrounded by the transparency, I felt too enclosed, too claustrophobic.

Some time ago I had the opportunity to have a flight in an Anaconda. It was amazing. The bridge was huge and really spacious. That was the moment I wanted one. So after owning a several ships, some fleeting (mostly the Lakon Transporters) some I have kept like my Python.

Probably I could have got the 'Conda earlier had I sold my other ships - Moritus Rising for example which is worth some 70 million plus. But I love my ships, Moritus will eventually be fitted out as a dedicated combat vessel, my new (and currently unnamed) Anaconda as an exploration vessel and I will look at getting another Type 9 for trading.

My other ships are just for fun. I would love to be able to own at least one of each eventually, probably when I retire!
