Where have all the planets gone - Neutron Star Field

Day two of my adventure to a neutron star field and it is somewhat dull! I am currently making my way between the two arms of the galaxy and the star systems are somewhat bare. I've had five systems in a row with no planets to be seen.It is odd. In the main habitable systems you hit planet after planet in the systems, here I am hardly seeing any. The few I do see are either ice systems, with only ice planets, or gas giants with rocky or icy moons.
It hasn't been a total loss. I have come across some high metal planets and even a couple of water planets, although none are terraformable so not worth much. I am hopeful that as I get through the gap between the galactic arms more planets will appear.
