A Former Mechanic's Thoughts

If you had told me six years ago that I'd eventually end up leading a fleet to retake, and then defend our Higarra, piloting a Corvette, feeling confident to fight in High strength Combat Zones, I'd have laughed at you. It's wild to see how much I and the squadron I inherited have grown up. It's also wild to see how far I've come from fixing up ships for others, to flying them myself, sometimes flying my friends around too. We still have some of the old guard playing again. It's been nice to see some of the members who were active when I joined logging back in and rediscovering how much fun it is to fly dangerously together again. I'm thankful that our operations have been well executed with members working in groups and splitting the work to avoid burnout. At one point we had the officers all taking a meeting outside one of our battleship grade corvettes when someone asked to take a picture, said it'd be good for morale. We felt obligated to humor them. Perhaps it would help things. Or at least show who was around and not on a prison ship at this time.
Things have been shaping up well, and there are rumors about those Thargoids in the space being dealt with. I'm not sure how likely it is they'll actually... take care of them. But at least for now, we have our home, and we're doing well. I know with my lovely Nightingale by my side, Aurora , we can tackle anything that the outside world throws our way. In fact, our operation for the latest war expanded to needing three wings of our team going on to keep things organized.
