My 1st day a free lance pilot.

My overview: There's a lot to this.

Its not as easy as all the holo-vids on the network would have you believe. That's all cheesy, Hollywood magic and pomp.

How I got to this point?
Simple. I was tired of the crap.
I was laid-off from my Factory job, 5th one this year. Corporations keep purchasing the subsidiary companies, slimming down or moving the factories to more populated or popular regions. Nearly 7 trillion humans in the galaxy, and there's still unemployment. Its a joke.

I sold my apartment, sold my car, sold everything I owned except for a change of clothes.
And what did I do with the newly risen funds?
I bought myself a steak, and a beer. Then I took a piss in the street and said "Ciao" to this miserable dusty planet.

Headed to the dock the next morning, purchased a novice Space Flight Suit, and the cheapest chip I could find.
Which wasn't just a common old Sidewinder... I didn't have 30,000 credits.
I bought a used, mothballed Sidewinder, one that needed some jerry-rigging repairs. But it only cost me 14,000 credits.
That, plus some supplies, fuel, some small parts, and my suit, oh, and lets not forget the novice Pilot's license. I made it out into space for only 16,800 credits.

I have 1,000 credits to my name now, for emergencies. Time to find some real work and begin my journey.

I hope I made the right choice.
