The Fall of the Hydra

After some trials to extract the heart of the Hydra, finally I managed to accomplish it. One hour of intense combat and a lot of damage to the hull and internals. The great deal in killing a Hydra is the amount of damage needed for the hearts to be expelled. Using basic ammo, you'll need around 38 to 50 shots depending on your distance, just to exert the first heart.
Also, there's the maneuver factor, because you'll need to pay close attention to the Hydra's trail while aiming with steady accuracy, in addition to keeping the correct distance, deploying heatsinks, repairing internals, managing pips, etc.
Apart from that and after destroying a heart, the Hydra will deploy it's temporary shield. That will give the pilot around five minutes to assess the ship's damage and ammo stocks.
Consequently, the commander will need to check all the systems and ammo stocks and prepare the synthesis of heatsinks, gauss cannons, flak cannons, AFMU while repairing the hull and internals, before going back to the Hydra.
It's not an easy battle, but training, refining my aiming skills and improving the cold orbit tecnhique while managing internal damage, assured my victory.
