Faith Unshaken

The news came this morning. I slept in, as I had been working hard, delivering supplies for the brave Imperials defending our territory, our way of life. When I got the news, I was a little awestruck. No one had heard from the Emperor after the many announcements made by Mordanticus to stir up the population into fighting against her reign. And she did not even speak when the Imperator announced the reveal of Hadrian Duval, a pure-blood successor to the throne. Only now did she step into the light of the Senate to speak. And to speak plainly, plain enough to recognize that every bit of defiance the Imperator showed was faulty from the beginning of his short time opposing our nation to his deserved defeat. Her words spoke the actions of the Empire: We do not tolerate open rebellion. The last time we let it get out of hand, Hengist Duval lay dead at the foot of our Empire. Mordanticus sought to unite the nation in the same way that every terrorist group seeks to bring one down. Eliminating our ruler, and throwing our people into chaos. If Nova Imperium would've succeeded, it would've only made things worse. It would have drawn more resources away from the fights that really mattered, defending ourselves against the thargoids, quelling foes near and far, and staying vigilant against any proxy attacks from Federal and Alliance agents, not true to the galaxy's wishes of keeping the peace. Mordanticus was a hypocrite from start to finish. And the Emperor had the last word. To compare Nova Imperium to Emperor's dawn is not unrealistic. Their goals were the same. Twist the Empire into their image, and usurp the current rule. And to say that this was a surreal sort of vengeance for Arissa, seeing all threats as the same one that killed her father, is not a crazy idea either. Almost at once, the outcry from other pilots and factions was instant. To say she doesn't have this kind of authority is absurd. Senators exist to protect and advance our nation, not to destabilize it. They are above the law, but The Emperor stands above them. Otherwise we would not be an Empire, we would be an Oligarchy. Vespasian, Winterstone, and any other senator who would see the Emperor dethroned are no better than the pirates and thugs who would gladly murder for a few credits. They just didn't have the guts to do it themselves.
My faith is unshaken. To those of you who supported the Imperator's cause, I urge you to repent, and be reborn into the unifying force of the Empire. To those of you who dissent towards the Emperor enough to take violent action, and create war, chaos, death and destruction in the sake of bringing us down, I say to you that we will fight you as we fought Nova Imperium, as we fought Emperor's Dawn, as we fought the Thargoids, the Federation, or anyone who dared to tear apart our unbreakable spirit. Bring it on.
Arissa Invicta.
