Skull and Crossbones #2
26 Aug 2017Robert Phillips
I had reached my destination - The Skull and Crossbones Nebula:It displays interesting shades of red and green, very colourful in this otherwise dark region of space:
It's one of the most remote nebulae in the galaxy, and holds it's own collection of sights.
From this distance, the centre of the Milky Way looks particularly dim and far away. Stars get quite thin out here, and you can see down the gap between the Perseus Arm and the Centaurus Reach:
Whilst browsing around the nebula, I also happened across some silicate vapours while exploring ravines on Skull and Crossbones Neb. Sector FG-Y e6 A 5 C, at coords 8.9891, 122.0194.
They provided a great source of raw materials for boosting my jump range later on.
