Gerald's asking for some time off and, well, so he gets it. I imagine it's something to do with the forty million credits he's racked up in the last little while. It's alright with me; I'd be wanting to spend them, too. Not too keen on bringing a fighter pilot to war right now anyhow.
In the meantime, I've been working for the Cobra Wing on a new research outpost they're looking to throw up. Rumor has it that they'll be trying to find a way of communication with the Thargoids, and I can't quite imagine anything more useful. Worst case scenario, you put nuts like me to rest when they don't reply too kindly. Best, you've saved both our damn species. I don't think there's loss there, just gain.
But, of course, opinions are like assholes, and I've encountered my fair share of those since I started hauling. You've got Kraits, Vultures, Eagles, all sorts looking to space your ass on the short jaunt to Ebor. They've not had as much luck as when I was helping move goods for that rehabilitation center last month, but, hey, you win some, you lose some, guys. I'd say the upgrades to Breca have been worth it.

That's about it for me today. I've got some other thoughts on my mind, like on the legitimacy of the op that I'm running for these Cobra folk, on the reliability and trustworthiness of COVAS, and... and whether or not I'd be so quick to join a war on the 'Goids if they were outright hostile. Sometimes I think it'd be better to up and jump to Colonia. I guess that's a problem for another day.
