Logbook entry

Dixon Dock

08 Sep 2018Robert Phillips
I was skirting around the edge of populated space, and entered the Col 285 Sector FG-X d1-49 system. My scanners had detected a Listening Post in orbit around the 2nd body.

I dropped out of SuperCruise and downloaded the signal from the Listening Post. It read:

LISTENING POST SIGNAL LOG
…Corrupted Signal MHS-295-A Detected…

Matches signal detected at listening posts: (hyades sector eb-x d1-59, hyades sector ir-u b3-5)

Approximate Signal Range: 36-39 LY

lf you get this message….. they found me…. long:-130.8341 …it’s not my fault….

…Signal Lost…

There wasn't enough information in this signal packet to locate the signal source, so I followed it's references to the other 2 matching systems. One at Hyades Sector EB-X D1-59:

LISTENING POST SIGNAL LOG
…Corrupted Signal MHS-295-B Detected…

Matches signal detected at listening posts: (col 285 sector fg-x d1-49, hyades sector ir-u b3-5)

Approximate Signal Range: 40-43 LY

lf you get this message….. they found me…. lat:-26.0807 …it’s not my fault….

…Signal Corrupted…

And the other at Hyades Sector IR-U B3-5:

ISTENING POST SIGNAL LQG
…Corrupted Signal MHS-295-C Detected…

Matches signal detected at listening posts: (col 285 sector fg-x d1-49, hyades sector eb-x dl-59)

Approximate Signal Range: 34-38 LY

If you get this message….. they found me…. 2d …it’s not my fault….

…Carrier Signal Lost…

The 3 signal fragments allowed me to triangulate the signal source to be at coords -26.0807, -130.8341 on the 4th moon of the 2nd body (2d) in a system that was:

  • 36-39 LY from Col 285 Sector FG-X D1-49
  • 40-43 LY from Hyades Sector EB-X D1-59
  • 34-38 LY from Hyades Sector IR-U B3-5

I found a matching system at HR 2551, a low population system with landable body at HR 2551 2 D. I headed to the specified coordinates and found an abandoned settlement called Dixon Dock.

Eager to see what had caused the base to become abandoned, I searched the area in mySRV. I found 4 Settlement Comms Log Uplinks dotted around the base that I was able to hack to download the final logs:

DON ANTONACI COLLECTS 1/4
I had no choice. It was them or me.
Gh god forgive me, I know I’ll die out here but I had to take my chances.
Clare I’m so sorry.

DON ANTONACI COLLECTS 2/4
Clare, if you get this message it means they found me.
I don’t know how. Whatever happens know I love you and the goods are hidden in the

The cargo is hidden. You’ll know it when you see it. It’s buried at

DON ANTONACI COLLECTS 4/4
Tell Don Antonaci I have his money.
Please, even I get boarded sometimes, it wasn’t my fault.
No! No! Please!

So, there may have been buried treasure somewhere nearby. However, there was no indication as to where. Given the base was abandoned, there's no telling how much time had passed since the logs were recorded. Maybe this 'Don Antonacci' found it and collected it after all.

I made a note to keep any eye out for any Commander with this name - his cargo hold may contain something of value...
