Today was our second visit to Sag A. We expected it's ethereal beauty this time around, but we were no less stunned...

The INV Empress has some pretty sophisticated science equipment on board, it's not really my field but Carlson was in her element. Our foremost aim is to scan as many systems in this area as possible - collate the data, highlight any findings, and then return back to the Anchorage after a couple of days.

We are all looking forward to spending pretty much a whole week gently sweeping the galactic core. We are picking up a lot of signals here with the amount of traffic passing through from on the Distant Worlds Expedition. We are still unsure if we will go on to Beagle Point - but for now there is plenty to do.

General Notes:
1. All systems operational, and no faults to report.
2. Have reviewed logs RAIK/Log/03-01-3305 to RAIK/Log/28-02-3305 of the Distant Worlds Expedition (DWII)
3. The above audio logs and transcriptions have been successfully transmitted and are now also on the back-up server.
4. All Unidentified Signal Sources will be scanned, all distress calls will be responded too and investigated.

Exploration Notes:
1. Sweep through STUEMEAE KM-W systems and log findings.
2. Discovered Gas Ring Giant with Water Based Life - look into this further and possibly scan.
3. Still looking for possible materials to synthesize for return journey to bubble.

Crew Notes:
1. New training on the DSS is to be given, based on the quantity of scanning required.
2. Refrain from playing personal music too loud - the scientists are busy.
3. Rotating watch established for the next 48hrs.
4. Fighter crew on standby, will carry out launch drill in 6hrs.
