~ Initiating Captain's Log~So I caught wind through the net (albeit a week later considering I'm no where near civilization) that they've begun development, and I'm guess that by now have even released a few prototypes, of a new carrier type ship. These are supposed to be able to carry fleets of ships, as well as have all the necessary trade and outfitting stores available as well? And they have massive jump ranges to boot...sounds intriguing, possible a legitimate use as a base of operations of the sort when out on deep space explorations. But holy crap...1 BILLION credits?? I know they require a lot of resources to get up and running, and admittedly if I sold off some of my assets I'd have more than enough and still be well off, but that just seems a little insane. Maybe after I return from this trip, I'll look more into - possibly dust off the old trader and get back into contact with some of my old clients (being a reputable and successful trader does have its perks). Will definitely have to do some more research and make sure I have all i's dotted and t's crossed before pulling the trigger on this one.
Any who, not a whole lot to report (again, wide open space - no intelligent life to speak of), did visit the Blue Whale geysers - while they were on the dark side of the planet no less! Was a pretty good photo opportunity. Then ran through the Cobalt Skies which was interesting in its own right. Next stop is what has been archived Life on the Edge - a 40 stellar black hole with some unusual systems features. What that means, I have no idea...guess I'll find out in about 3000 light years!
My new (well not so new anymore I don't suppose) crew mates are settling in very well, and I feel that we've all formed a strong bond over the past few weeks. Carina does a fantastic job handling everything on the flight deck when I'm not up here and she seems to work well with Verity when it comes to handling the ship and route plotting. And between her and Chase operations run just as smooth when I have the con as when I don't. Everyone has the niche - they're specialty - and I couldn't be happier with their performances.
Well, time to log off for now - Carina and Chase and going to take the con to allow me to get a few hours of shut eye....I love those two!
