COMMANDER ADRELLA//SJCS ARTEMIS//3308-02-04 - Combat

It's been nice to get back into the swing of combat, and I'm once again falling in love with the reliability and flexibility of the Krait Mk II, my SJCS Artemis. After several battles in <REDACTED>, the lowest her shields have ever reached is 30%, and the hull's not been scratched. To be fair, this is fighting against the low-skilled muscle the <REDACTED> <REDACTED> Systems can afford, and since I've been flying alone, I've headed for the Low CZs, so I'm definitely facing the small fries.

However, there's merit in winning the smaller battles - it frees up forces otherwise engaged to support the larger battles, which is why we achieved victory in the first day of the fighting. In the last two days, I managed to take out over 60 of their craft. With losses like those, it's only a matter of time until <REDACTED> <REDACTED> Systems runs out of credits, forcing them to abandon control over one of their assets.

During the fighting itself, my age-old tactic of focus-firing on my target's power plant proved mostly effective, but there were instances where the enemy craft would lose their power planet but still manage to high- or low-wake out of the battle. A few times, I changed tack and went after their FSD first, then the power plant.

Once this conflict is done, I'm wondering what I'll do with myself. The black is calling to me, though this time, I'm thinking I won't rely on a 3A shield to protect my Anaconda's hull. Instead, I might sacrifice some jump distance and take something a little more robust. I'm also not heading all the way out, instead I'll likely survey the systems around the bubble, maybe venture towards Guardian and Thargoid space, see what I can find.

I do need to get some more materials to upgrade my suits and personal weapons, but grinding for them isn't any fun. I think I'll stick to looking out for clearing out settlement raiders, taking the rewards that come with it. There's no point focusing so heavily on something if it isn't fun.
